About Me

Hello and welcome, I'm Diane and I am Mum to two lovely, lively and craft-minded children, Tayla and Arron. I love my crafts, especially knitting and crochet but my main passion is designing and making mosaics. I have been mosaicing since 2007, using a variety of different items. I suppose I should call myself a mixed-media mosaic artist. I also love the challenge of a commission!!! All my items (including those on Flickr) are for sale, just leave me a message for details. (I do have Paypal)

just like a bus-nothing for ages and then loads in one go!!!

Here is my latest project. I have spent lots of time, money and frustration on getting this piece right. No grout this time, but still coated so every little piece is firmly in place. This one is very tactile too, no sharp edges at all. My mum loves this as she says it's fascinating to look at with all the small parts.
Still can't get the photos right, the colour just has not come out very well, the buttons are all very vintage looking lilacs, the pink beads are a dusky rose and the dark beads are a very deep purple. Seems that the camera just doesn't like these shades!

At last something is finished!!

Well it has taken me ages but here at last are my latest works. The first two are something different, bead encrusted tealight candle holders. Have also finished another completely new item but have yet to photograph it....watch this space!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I know I'm a bit late saying this but time is just flying by!!!
Have been busy with mosaicing although nothing is finished yet. I have decided that I will make items all week and then spend one day just grouting. I have also been busy sorting out the Truly Crafted Craft Fairs for this year too.
Anyway, belated Happy 2010 and I hope it finds everyone well and happy and looking forward to a prosperous and healthy year ahead.

It's nearly Christmas!!

Another week has been and gone and we are now another week closer to Christmas!

All orders have been done and received by the customers and all have been pleased. The customer who commissioned the cat was very pleased when I handed it over and said that she can't wait to give it to her daughter (who owns the real cat). I told her all about my stressing over the likeness and to my relief, she said she thought I had captured him very well and loved his eyes.

I've had a week off from mosaicing but have been busy with another passion, knitting. I will be back to mosaicing at some point this week though as I still have a unicorn I want to finish and I have a fairy lined up. Well, that's the plan so let's just see what happens.......
